A NEW DRAWING: HAND AND STONE
"The image motif is based on a photograph that I took in 2023 on a stony stretch of beach on the island of Rügen. My aim with this shot was to make a stone float. By using a very short exposure time, I managed to freeze the movement of the stone. When looking at the photograph and the drawing, it remains unclear whether the hand is throwing or catching the stone, which reinforces the impression of weightlessness. I deliberately chose this image detail to emphasise the floating state of the stone."

MY NEW DRAWING: FASCINATED
"Echoes of the Atomic Age: A Timeless Warning"
Why did I choose this topic? To address the fear of nuclear war and highlight our current geopolitical tensions. Inspired by the movie "Oppenheimer" and the Trinity Test Site in New Mexico, this piece reminds us how the atomic bomb ushered in a new political era, sparking an arms race and Cold War tensions. The display of such destructive power placed the world in a perpetual state of threat, forever changing geopolitical dynamics and international diplomacy.
The fascination with large explosions and an ominous backdrop underscores the danger and destructive power of nuclear weapons and ensures that we never forget. This message is especially important in today's tense global climate.
